At home, practice fractions during snack time by cutting foods into equal parts and asking your child to identify and compare them aloud: 'If we cut this apple into fourths, how many fourths do you have? Rotate through different foods and different numbers of pieces so they see that one-half of a cracker is a different size than one-half of a banana, but the concept is the same.
